In January 2020, Former Governor Andrew Cuomo issued Executive Order 203—Police Reform and Reinvention—mandating each municipal leader in the state to gather diverse community members to recommend measures to improve police policies, procedures, and practices. Each of Westchester’s more than 40 districts was expected to submit a report to NY State on April 1, 2021, describing its plans.
